About the property
To make Le Littoral the ideal gathering place, Architecture49 designed a clean, comfortable, and functional environment, equipped with amenities such as a pool, sauna, and spa. The kitchen, located on the upper floor, is designed to allow amateur chefs to make the most of Charlevoix’s excellent local products. Upon arrival, the chalet exudes a calming atmosphere with its neutral color palette. The wood structure and finishes in noble materials enable occupants to quickly connect with the space while staying in harmony with their surroundings. Integrating this contemporary building into a natural setting like Cap-à-l’Aigle required thoughtful decisions to minimize the impact on the terrain. Elevated without a basement, Le Littoral offers breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River while maintaining privacy thanks to the surrounding forest. The long, carefully planned layout maximizes natural light and the privacy of the interior spaces. The project also emphasizes the use of durable natural materials and the promotion of local craftsmanship. The structure, assembled near the construction site, uses FSC-certified wood, while materials like cedar and pine reflect a genuine commitment to utilizing Quebec’s resources and showcasing the expertise of regional artisans.
